I've heard that Knees and Toes is also a good shampoo...

I use Polytar liquid when my psoriasis flares up during stressful periods.Psoriasis does cause my scalp (and elbows) to itch. Available from Boots or your Doctor.

To be honest healthy hair can go at least 5 days without being washed.I've really long hair and I only wash it once a week.My hairdresser is impressed at how healthy it is..she only has to cut about inch or so of dead hair when I visit her.

It's got something to do with the natural oils in your hair hasn't it?, because i wash it everyday im loosing the oils.

Well maybe your hair is fighting back in defence.
Constantly washing out the natural oils for 'most' people is not a good idea especially as some shampoos are rather harsh.

To be strictly accurate it's only the hair follicle (root) that is alive. The hair itself is dead.
Perhaps it dries out over time which could cause the ends to split?

Re: Itchy Scalp.
I have ridiculously greasy hair, and i once tried this theory of not washing it for a week or so (i was staying in lol!) and it does reach a point where it doesn't get any greasier, but it felt MING.
I washed it on Tues night and right now it's like a block of lard

IN which case highlights can be helpful along with the gentlest shampoo (not baby shampoo) and washing hair only once rather than twice. Also make sure the water is cool rather than hot. This was advice I got from a hairdresser when I was going through the greasy teens & it worked for me.
