Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
So I just have to wait for the modem fairy then. Just out of interest why do I need the new modem to get 10meg when I know my old one can handle it? How long did it take you to get the modem delivered to boro then?

Because future network changes may cause your current modem to stop working. Its future proofing.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
No upgrade, nor even a hint of one, here in Warrington yet. P'raps we're last in the queue after our early 50Mbps service.
To rub it in further, we had our first £20 bill yesterday.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
I think that's the problem ... paying that extra £2 for a free increase in speed - which hasn't happened ... but the increase has.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
Hi Everyone,
I am thinking about registering for the 2-10mb upgrade, but I am worried that if I register I will be put onto a new 12 month contract.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
Ben has already reassured me that that isn't the case. The post should be earlier on in this thread.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
Fairy' I know you know that the £2 is not for the speed upgrade but just the first price increase in two years.

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
ermmm ..... yes I know its a price increase. I've only been with them one year. Actually now I remember, as soon as we signed on, the price went up for something - can't remember what it was now - but I was hell of annoyed at the time!!!
Its just that Virgin have got their timing completely wrong - free upgrade - price increase for same service!!!!!!!!!! Idiots!!!! 6 months after and I bet there would have been hardly any comments --- using the term hardly very lightly

Re: Free 2 to 10 upgrade
I did'nt realise you had to register to upgrade to 10mb. I don't recall reading this in the e-mailed letter from Richard!!
Just registered and was informed that it will be done in the next few days. Seems ridiculous to have to register for the upgrade. This hasn't been necessary in the past.

The is no need to register but you will get the upgrade quicker as otherwise you would have to wait till October.
