Re: Two Modems?
Ya know what? It does! Granted, it's only an "extra" 2Mbit, but every little helps! Am gonna see later on if it helps downloads, but in all honesty, 512 + 200 up is (just about) the same as what the 20Mbit tariff gets.

Re: Two Modems?
Why do VM send out a new modem if you have a slow connection? I called them yesterday as i had a poor connection and they instantly said, we will send you a new modem! I can't belive it's in their interests to send out new modems willy nilly like this

Re: Two Modems?
OK, a quick update on the 2 modems situation: this gives me a great upload when using BitTorrent: 712Kbit up, 12Mbit down. There are 2 separate IP addresses, 2 different cpc x numbers, 2 different cust xxx numbers, so it's 2 separate connections.
Awesome!

It is also technically theft, though you are unlikely to be prosecuted for it as it is VMs fault.

Exactly. If VM won't disconnect the modem from the network, or blacklist the MAC of the modem, why's it still giving me a connection? I doubt they'd want it back, it's such an old modem! Looks like its heading for the loft.
