good evening,
ive just bought a new computer as my other one went pete tong.
Do i have to load the broadband cd to my new computer? or can i just set up my new computer and plug in the ethernet cable and it will work?

just want to make sure.

If you are connecting via ethernet cable you really don't need anything. Just power-cycle the cable modem so it 'sees' the new PC and you should be good to go.

Use the CD as a coaster as that is the best use for it nowadays.

I personally use them as FT practice (field target)....

nothing better than putting pellet after pellet in the centre without touching the cd itself at 50meters...though I must admit to missing the centres on AOL cd's quite often

As broadband speeds got faster they outstripped the normal speeds of USB1.1, so as WDINAT normally says the USB is no longer supported by VM.

The CD itself had two functions..USB drivers and also a link to the registration system, the first is as defunct as the usb hardware on the modem, the 2nd is no longer used due to a change in the registration system...

So in effect you have a piece of aluminium coated plastic in the shape of a coffee coaster... though I will admit to using them as a whisky coaster
