new computer
good evening,
ive just bought a new computer as my other one went pete tong. Do i have to load the broadband cd to my new computer? or can i just set up my new computer and plug in the ethernet cable and it will work? just want to make sure. thanks |
Re: new computer
If you are connecting via ethernet cable you really don't need anything. Just power-cycle the cable modem so it 'sees' the new PC and you should be good to go.

Re: new computer
Use the CD as a coaster as that is the best use for it nowadays.;)

Re: new computer
why is that then?
so all i do is set up my computer and plug the blue lead in? |

nothing better than putting pellet after pellet in the centre without touching the cd itself at 50meters...though I must admit to missing the centres on AOL cd's quite often ;) ---------- Post added at 13:23 ---------- Previous post was at 13:19 ---------- Quote:
The CD itself had two functions..USB drivers and also a link to the registration system, the first is as defunct as the usb hardware on the modem, the 2nd is no longer used due to a change in the registration system... So in effect you have a piece of aluminium coated plastic in the shape of a coffee coaster... though I will admit to using them as a whisky coaster ;) |

thanks
