He then said, I have no Idea, I did a tracert and then advised "Your PC is facing spyware issues, disable it" I said dont be stupid! There is no spyware installed on this machine.. blah blah blah.

The bloke then said, I cant do anything else you 20 minutes is up.

Can anyone think / suggest anything?

Re: What the hell is going on???

Standard question, are you wire connected direct to the modem, or are you connected via a router? If the latter, what happens when you connect direct?

Re: What the hell is going on???

Hey

First thing that popped to mind was my pile of crap Wifi Router. So unplugged, whacked in the Ethernet same results, slightly better but only a MS

I spoke to Tech Support again, the lady advised something is wrong with the UBR and it is slightly overloaded. Engineer booked for Monday to come and sort out. I got a credit for £14.00 for the problems & she also advised me 8AM-8PM you will get UK Support Agents, after 8 its over to India

Also some interesting details about Phorm, Virgin Media signed the "provionsal Agreement" to find out about the technology. I advised her of my concerns for privacy and she said, there will be a Opt Out, I advised still makes me think there, is it really opt out!

Re: What the hell is going on???

My connection went mental at about the same time for a while, I was getting pings of 1000 +

I decided there and then that the BT line is being reactivated for me.

All of your power levels and SNR are spot on for a 20 Mb on the Knowsley network EX-Telewest, everything is within the normal operational parameters for that modem.

You could try this.

Download this TCP Optimizer and set to 20000

Good to see you removed that other bit of info.

Try that Optimiser link above even Virgin recommend it on their website and give your computer a thorough clean remove all temp files and history, if on IE7 go to internet options>advanced and click the reset button, try Firefox even.

Correct me if I'm wrong but surely that looks like an issue between router and modem?

I've thought that before now, but my modem and router have 192 addresses, so isn't 10.60.144.1 the UBR or somewhere ?
Either way it seems like an out of the house issue.

Nope.
The 192.168.x.x is webcrawler's router, 10.60.x.x is the cable modem and 80.192.x.x is her/his public IP on an AztecWest UBR.

I'd suggest that the original TS suggestion was about right: reboot everything especially the modem and router.

You are right, Kymmy.
