Same here with firefox, took me a moment to figure out how to add mirrors, they don't make it all that obvious found it by chance.

Downloaded the ISO tonight (don't like upgrades, much prefer to do a clean install), only to find I don't have any blank CDs left!

I put a dvd-r in by mistake once burning software quite happily wrote a the ISO to it
Actually it was an older ubuntu release, booted & installed fine.

Nope.

Ran out of them too.

Been meaning to get some more all week, to test my new dual layer burner.

Looks like I'll be buying CDs & DVDs tomorrow!

Just installing it!

Seems abit more polished, cd bootup was alot slower than feisty, but overall seems faster once installed, nice having compiz-fusion embedded in the OS and modified for ubuntu (speed wise)

amarok is great dunno how i missed that before when i was playing with debian.

Its fast, uncluttered and very easy to queue up tracks for playing

I was chuffed that everything on my pc just worked out the box.

I did run it brifely on the macbook as well even the wi-fi with WPA worked

Amarok is the best audio player around imo, even gonna be a windows port sometime over the next year!

Yep, funnily i mod it to look more like a mac, but im goin for the real thing in a few months

FInally give in with m$ OS's, too much hassle.

Actually I did, Wanted to install XP to play freelancer of course it doesn't like the Sata RAID enabled (BSOD unless you have the satadriver load on xp setup)

Anyway turned off the Raid and of course vista then wouldn't boot so I thought oh well and just wiped the vista partition.

I don't have a dx10 card, i spend most of the time on my pc on the internet and listing to music both of witch i can do from linux...

So now i have a nice ubuntu install and an XP install for the games

Hopefully the soundcard i have on order will work on ubuntu I think it should.

Whoops just realised I forgot to firewall my ubuntu

Well it was behind the NAT but can never be to careful, its done now.

Pretty much same here, dont game on the PC so XP has finally gone bye byes for good.

I find it quite amusing vistas has only managed to put out aero which seriously lacks considering due to compiz-fusion.

Everything working here in Gutsy 64bit, no reason for anyone with a 64bit processor to install 32bit UBUNTU anymore, Flash, codec's, all working perfic Rodders.
Even comes with LAMPP, no need to raid the Debian suppositories for it now.
Gb LAN transfers still slow though compared to Debian, other than that Gutsy is a perfect distro.

Stopped it crashing kwindowmanager?
I used it for about 5 minutes then decided it wasn't particularly productive and did seem to hurt stablity.

Had to change my backup provider since mozy lack a linux client oh well using Jungledisk now and its not tied to a particular computer or OS :-)

EH????....Thats no like you to only devote 5 mins to something Linux

Thats the trouble with many aspects of Linux it seems......people spend only 5 minutes trying something out before writing it off as useless or unstable

Of course though, most of the compiz-fusion plugins are nothing but fancy bells & pointless whistles there are actually some very useful plugins too but you have to spend a wee bit longer than 5 min`s discovering them,as well as all their best settings.
We`ve had compiz around in it`s various guises since last August on numerous pc`s and never had any real problems with stabilty.Had issues with Emerald in Gutsy at first(3 months ago) but never really CF itself.
