RACE trouble is being predicted because of an ethnic baby boom in one of Britain’s major cities.

A third of babies being born in Sheffield are to ethnic minority families, an official report has revealed.

The article borders on irresponsible journalism, as a read of the "reader's comments" clearly shows. However, I like this bit:

The minority Labour council also wants a broader debate on what it means to be a Sheffielder in the 21st century – identifying responsibilities and shared values.

These could include a pledge that parents should take an active interest in their children’s education and a promise that all citizens should be able to speak and write English well.

I reckon this pledge (or was it a promise?) will make half the "white British" residents tremble.

I wonder if the standard of English will go down that is taught in classrooms so the multilingual kids have a better chance of keeping up with english speaking kids.....

By the way, i'm not racist, and i don't preach or rant about the immigrants/muslims/state of the world today etc, but i kind of agree with Locky (in post 4), i don't fancy the idea of being in the minority one day, as a white brit.
