Help With BeThere

Today I Just Got Connected To BeThere Unlimited Getting 100KB Upload When Was Expecting Around 130KB Modem Config States: Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,139 / 3,157

Btw, Im Using A 10Meter Extension Could This Be The Problem?

The extension could be the problem.

Also, go to http://samknows.com . If you type in your phone number, it should give an approximate distance to your exchange.

Remove everything from the line apart from the modem and try again.

Well unless you can move the PC you may never find out if it's the extension. Any line noise, interference etc on the phone?

Nope no line noise or interference, i was told im not using the correct extension for broadband, so should buy a hard-wire extension in my case.

Aye, hard wired is better than something designed for temporary use. Trouble is it costs to get it installed professionally. Have you asked for a line test to be run?

is there anyway you can even temporarily move the router/modem off hte extension to see if thats causing the problem.

can you get stats off the router/modem

Sync speeds, Attenuation, SNR.etc

You may also want to remove the bell wire.
And download the DMT tool, this will allow you to adjust your modem/router SNR levels

Ya, you deffo need to setup a good hardwired extension and remove the bell wire to improve SNR before using the DMT tool.
