Exclamation Cant Get This To Work!!!!!

Since installing the Router (Linksys) I cannot do searches on DC++, and when I use Limewire I get only about 50 When i do a search.

I dont know much about Ports , Port Forwarding etc, But I need to get these two programs working.

Can anyone help? I will probably need to ring up NTL or PC WOrld but i need to know something about what ports i should be using and anything that might help the engineer sort it out for me.

Re: Cant Get This To Work!!!!!

NTL won't "fix" your ports. Odds are you need to set up your router to work correctly with the router itself. What model router is it and have you changed any settings yet?

Hmm...... I don't understand why that wouldn't have worked. I don't know what else to suggest. Sorry.

Definitley not if i were you i would edit that lot on a side note i have this same router and the firmware sucks. I ended up flashing mine with a custom firmware much better, but not for the faint hearted pain in the **** to flash it.

Re: Cant Get This To Work!!!!!

Could Barewolf or a passing mod edit that post?

Barewolf, on my Linksys WRT54G router, the UPnP setting is under the Administration tab on the configuration pages. Go on http://192.168.1.1 to access your router configuration pages.
