Saturday Night / Sunday Morning - TiVo Reboot?
Morning all,
Just a quick question as to whether anyone's knows if VM do an update or auto-reboot to TiVo sometime overnight on a Saturday night / Sunday morning?
Only reason I ask is that I always switch my TiVo into standby when I go to bed but for several weekends I've noticed that when I come to put the TV on on a Sunday morning, the TiVo is already on. I can therefore only assume something is happening overnight to do this but it's obviously something scheduled for it to happen the same night each week.
Grateful for any suggestions.

This has been happening to both my TiVo boxes for some time; one does it Saturday night / Sunday morning and the other Wednesday night / Thursday morning...

Yes, TiVos do reboot periodically. It's done to avoid certain faults that can occur after the box has been running a long time.
If you want to change the day it happens, reboot the box yourself on a different day, then it'll start rebooting on that day instead.

I had a Humax Freeview box that needed rebooting so very often, that I plugged it into a mains timer socket to switch it on and off at around 5am every day. My WDTV needed rebooting every so often when I used it for Netflix. At least with Tivo, you don't have to take the reboot action yourself.

Cheers for all the replies, guessed it must be something like spiderplant has confirmed.
It's a good idea as the TiVo did need a reboot every now and again so I guess a weekly auto-reboot saves a lot of faults and calls to CS.
