Google Chrome Steals Your Privacy

Microsoft has hit out at Google's Chrome browser, claiming that it doesn't respect users' privacy.

Microsoft recently posted a video called "Google Chrome Steals Your Privacy" to its TechNet Website. The video explained why Microsoft didn't trust Chrome's privacy and used Internet Explorer 8 as a comparison.

Re: Google Chrome Steals Your Privacy

It's because of how the address bar is also the search bar, probably not just Chrome it happens in now either.. I think that MS pulled the video from their own site pretty quickly.

Re: Google Chrome Steals Your Privacy

If Microsoft had any balls they would have compared Chrome to Firefox.

Re: Google Chrome Steals Your Privacy

Maybe I'm too cynical, but I take the view anything Google provides is done with the express intention of learning about me to flog adverts to me.

I'm toying with the idea of Chrome over Firefox but certainly won't be going anywhere near their DNS servers.

Not really..I'm certain Google has more information about my activities on the net via youtube, igoogle etc, the only information MS has is some fake details I used to sign up to Hotmail when it first came out and XBOX360 information. Nothing about browsing habits or which videos I watch, which twitter feeds I follow, which news rss feeds I read and my real email in my Gmail account. Having said that, I don't mind Google having that information since I trust G far more than I'd ever trust MS, although not completely but enough to justify using their free services in exchange for some free information about me.
