Stopping a Macbook Automatically Loading a CD/DVD

I was wondering if it was possible to stop a CD/DVD automatically loading whenever you open the lid of the Macbook or log back in?

Something I have been meaning to ask since I got it last year and kept forgetting about

Yup.

Go to System Preferences > CD & DVDs > It will then let you choose what the mac will do when you enter a CD.

So by default it will iTunes for music CD's, and DVD player for video's DVDs. So I would change these and set it to ignore.

But it doesn't run any program right? I not sure if you can stop it spinning because the Mac needs to know what you just put it in.

Re: Stopping a Macbook Automatically Loading a CD/DVD

Yeah that's right. Sorry should have made my original question clearer

There are times when I leave a disc in to go back later and after an initial load up I was hoping there might be a way to stop it loading every time it came out of standby.

Not to worry...learnt something else as a consequence
