Helen. It sounds like you have a lot of spyware/adware on your system.

I suggest you download and install and run adaware. You can find it here:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Then do the same with Spybot:

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

This should (hopefully) help with the popups, and may speed up you connection as well.

Re: Help? Pleeeze?

I think you have spyware too. Try the programs Dan has mentioned, but you also might want to try:

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx

As I think its pretty good.

Re: Help? Pleeeze?

If you are getting lots of pop-ups, it is possible your PC is infected with a virus or 'spyware'. Are you running any anti-virus software, or anti-spyware?

(I use AVG from http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php for anti-virus, and Spybot Search and Destroy from http://www.spybot.info/en/download/index.html for anti-spyware (both free to home users).

[Edit] beaten to it, I see.

Re: Help? Pleeeze?

Hi Helen,
You could also down load the 'Yahoo toolbar'(www.yahoo.co.uk & click on toolbar.)
That has a built in pop up blocker & anti-spy button & i've found them very good.
Do you have a good anti-virus program on the pc?
If not,do a google search for 'avg free edition' (made by Grisoft) & it's very popular.
