Changed from HDMI to scart

Hi all, and for my first post, I have a problem

I recently had a lightning strike hit our house, it took at a number of AV bits, including my HD tv . The tele is being repaired under house insurance, so I'm now stuck with a naff 24" CRT display.
As the tele isnt HD, I'm now using the scart connection on AV1. This is coming directly from the V+ box, but sound is going via optical to my amp (as it always has been). I'm getting sound from the V+ box, but no picture. No picture what so ever, as if there isnt a signal. Now I assume this is because its still trying to output over the digital/HDMI channel? How do I switch it back to analogue/scart?
I've rung VM, but they have been useless. So I've tried holding down OK with standby, and then pressing reset. This then brings up a screen on the tele! IMPORTANT do not turn off... blah blah, however, after I assume, some scan, it reboots and apart from a flash white screen, I'm back to nothing on the tele....
I've even tried the format trick using the remote, but still no picture.

Anyone got any ideas how I can sort this out, reset to default or soemthing?

TIA
Dave

Q: I've set my V+ output to HDMI or Component, but I don't have an HDTV and now I can't see any pictures and me Dad's gonna kill me. Help!
A: Hold in the Stop and Play/Pause buttons on the front panel, and press Reset. Keep Stop and Play/Pause held in until the display says 'boot'.
After a few seconds the display should say 'outpt'. Press the Fast Forward button several times until the display says 'Sd', then press OK.
Wipe away the sweat. Wait for the V+ to reboot. Make a small monetary donation to Cable Forum. Vow never to be so foolish again.

You f'nn superstar!!!

Now 1st, thing, why couldn't VM tell me this, instead of sending an engineer to my house whilst I'm at work, and I didnt ask for such a thing??!
And 2nd, why didn't I see that point - possibly because I didnt read all the way to the bottom of the FAQ

Glad you've got it sorted

About your first point....My neighbour had a similar problem, engineer came round and still couldn't sort it. I had to go round and do it for him lol.
