Annoying IVR

I just called up ntl to add some channels to my package only to hear the recorded message by the chirpy geordie that if there's something wrong with my broadband, I should call a different number. After going through all that (and repeating the number again) he cheerfully tells me that customer service closed 2 hours ago.

Now wouldn't it be better for the customer if this was mentioned at the start of the call rather than giving me irrelevant information first?

Re: Annoying IVR

It's worse when you are paying a premium rate for the call and they drone on and on and on and on before getting to the info you want...

Re: Annoying IVR

As you know, these things change all the time

Still, I didn't have time to switch my computer on and check that...

Re: Annoying IVR

Customer Service Opening hours
8am to 8pm - Monday to Friday*
9am to 5pm - Saturday*
10am to 4pm - Closed*

What is the last line supposed to mean?

Should it say "10am to 4pm - Sunday", or "closed - Sunday"?

Re: Annoying IVR

Little things like that make all the difference... I wonder why they don't do it? I am not being funny...

It would be interesting to know why these simple things aren't implemented. If there is a reasonable answer then fair enough....
