Hold on, let's not jump to conclusions here.
There are a small proportion of customers who cancelled their TV and were allowed to keep just the broadband via the set top box. I don't arrange that myself, but I do know on quite a few occasions it does/did get done because it's a lazier option than the proper one, which is to arrange a cable modem.
It sounds like that's what this customer has. If so, then ntl won't allow the free to air channels through it, however, I can't see any problem with helping the customer book PPV films...at the end of the day, that is generating revenue for the company. What I *don't* know, is whether a box with no channel packages will physically allow the booking of PPV...one of STT specialists will have to answer that one!
Apologies if I am wrong, but I'd be willing to bet that the above described situation applies to this customer, so let's not all jump in and accuse him of having a dodgy box.....
