Just trying to set up my neighbours broadband and I have a problem, I can ping any website I want but I cant surf to any of them. The bottom left corner says opening www.bbc.co.uk but then it goes to page cannot be found
have you managed to succesfully complete registration? if your IP address is ending with anything between 248 and 253, then its still a pre-reg IP address...which would explain why you can ping but not browse. if you have completed reg...might be worth a reset of the cable modem
As 50420 said, if you haven't completed registration (or the modem hasn't rebooted after registration), you won't be able to browse to any site other than the registration site.
