Sudden speed increase after speaking to billing dept?

This is not a billing issue but related to my internet speed.

I have just got off the phone to the billing dept to have a chat about my bills and how i could possibly reduce the cost of them. This was mainly telephone related.

Whilst talking to them i enquired about reducing both tv and internet from XL internet and TV to L - i made a comment that i may as well reduce to 10Mb as i never really hit over 12Mb anyway (this has always been like this -maybe 14 at a push)

So i end the call and say i will monitor things (re the telephone charges) and if its high again next month i'll change my package about to save money - call ended

So whilst talking to the mrs about reducing tv/internet we both agree that we may as well reduce the internet if we are only getting about 2Mb over the 10Mb package anyway - and so i go do a speed test to prove it, low and behold im getting pretty much full speed

ive not cleared any cache, cookies or history and not the interbet is waaaay more snappy than it has been over the last 9 or so months.

so im wondering if they have changed something their end and if this is commen practice etc to keep me on a higher package? i just cant work it out.

comments?

I don't think the billing department has the ability to do what u suggest, maybe you just picked a good server to do the speedtest

maybe so, but i can actually feel that internet is quicker when browsing the same as i have been for months.

I cant see it being a coincidence - it feels like ive jumped from dial up to BB

plus i did a test from the speed tester on this forum and it came out the same
