A 2nd PC connected to the linksys works a treat - implying the switch bit works a treat.

The ISA has two network cards in, the linksys just needs to bridge the wifi side to the ethernet side. I've been reduced to randomly turning options on or off... there is a Gateway / router option which would appear to need to be set to "Router". I don't need the firewall feature so I'm wishing I'd brought a standalone access point.
