You can't have a digibox then unfortunately... NTL do not sell them, they rent them on the basis that you obtain one of their DTV services too.

I would severely warn against plugging a cable split from the back of your modem into a TV or anything like that because it can generate noise onto the line which will affect both your broadband service and for other NTL customers in the same area (as sollp said above).

Do you have a TV card in your PC? If so, get a cheap TV aerial from Argos or Wilkinsons for a few quid and use that... OR get a standard roof aerial fitted in your attic and use a freeview box then plug that into your TV card.
