Some public servants are more equal than others. They love kicking the public sector but conveniently forget that they're a part of it. Hardly any of the current public sector reforms apply to them strangely. A lot of them have even better paid second jobs/consultancies/chairmanships, as well as second homes which we have to pay for. If they don't like it they can resign, like the rest of us could. There's plenty looking for jobs that would welcome half their salary (even before perks).
