One thing does not sound right about all of this.

WHY do RAF personnel need to be trained?

I would have thought that they would be quite competant already with, you know, refuelling jets and stuff with avgas?

I certainly remember seeing fuel tankers on RAF bases in my days as an Air Cadet.
