Most people I know weren't against the students protesting - they were very much against the entirely reckless and unacceptable way in which some of them, like Gilmour, chose to go about it.
Since you're interested in wagers, I'd wager that what Steve Allen had to say about this and indeed most other matters during his 'tabloid' style radio show isn't a true reflection of what the majority of his listeners really believe, let alone the majority of the population as a whole.
