I have a Sony HD TV that is hooked to the internet via my VM Cable Modem. This gives me access to some VOD and films (Lovefilm and others). Interestingly a lot of the VOD stuff, e.g. BBC Iplayer shows recent stuff quicker than VM does on its platform, which is useful if you just missed something.

Quality seems as good at VM VOD for IPlayer at least if you choose the high def option (which is not true HD I know).
