Right, my initial excitement was a bit short lived, but its a step forward.
I've got my fathers connected via the router, but mine isn't liking it.
So far i've tried two LAN cards and two separate cables.
The one LAN card just says 'no connection' and a red cross on the pc diagram next to the clock (bottom, right)
The other LAN card says 'limited or no connectivity' and a yellow '!' mark on the computer pic.
This has happened with both cables (5m cable i had made and 10m cable VM supplied in box)
EDIT: This is confusing because immediately as connected the LAN cable to my fathers PC, a balloon appeared saying 'connected', just couldn't access internet.
I've tried switching everything off and all back on. Connecting just the one PC. 'Repair network connection' from control panel and it comes up with 'Cannot renew IP address'.
Again, all outta ideas lol. any suggestions?
