I also had the same issue and found great delight in removing this last poxy remnant of BT from my property. In fact I've recently had my soffits and gutters replaced so had the rest of their rubbish removed also and if I could get away with it, I'd do the same to all of the other BT cables that come across my land (to adjacent properties) also. :D

I presume you are talking about the triangular bracket that should be fixed to the wall not the window.

People can get in bother by cutting or removing the cable ,i have never heard of it happening but technically the cable is the property of BT and should not be touched

A lot of the times a separate contractor is bought in to remove arial cables or any other cable attached to the windows/roofline except the BT lines which have to be BT contractors before i get on site because as you say it takes months for BT to get into gear for what is a 10min job
