router slowing my speed
I have a netgear WGR614 v6 and a virgin cable modem.
When i connect directly to the modem I can get 10mb but once i add the netgear it literally halves my speed. This is before I add another pc too. Is this just going to be the netgear router or is there a way to get full speed through it? |

Re: router slowing my speed
It's only on linux, windows can clock 10meg everytime.
it halves on linux though. I was given a usb 10/100 ethernet adapter from a tech guy at my place and I have to use that or I simply cannot get the connection going on linux |

Re: router slowing my speed
I have a wireless router, but my two PC's are wired into it, as wireless is rubbish for gaming and anything else you need a good connection with.
The only thing I use wireless for is my PDA, with which wireless is perfect. |
