He claims adslmax is ADSL2+.

So who is right?

Re: Who is right here?

You are.

ADSL Max is basically when LLU is enabled on the line meaning that it "unlocks" the 2 Mb/s cap meaning you just get as much as your signal allows.

ADSL2+ doubles the number of downstream bits cf standard ADSL meaning the connection speed can be doubled regardless of where you are.

With ADSL Max, if you can only get 1 Mb because of the line, you will only get 1 Mb, on ADSL2+ you will get 2.

Re: Who is right here?

LLU = Local Loop Unbundling means BT releases the copper from exchange to customer so other ISP's can put their own DSLAMs in the exchange.

A line still with BTWholesale and wholesaled to other ISPs is not Unbundled and with ADSL Max (G.992.1) will sync upto 8Mbps.

That is a very long line at 55db roughly about 4km+. Thats is a good sync speed for the length and I am willing to bet its a ADSL2+ connection

Tell me exactly what it said?

What exchange you on?

Have you asked Sky?
