Aaaaargh! Got no email and can't access the ntlworld.com site. Sounds like overnight maintenance is overrunning. Anyone got the inside track?

Yup, same here.

None of my ntl email accounts appear to be working, no webmail and no ntlworld... ouch!

And all the support engineers are probably in a meeting right now being told they are redundant. :rolleyes:

I don't think it's last night's maintenance overruning, as it was all working fine at about 7.30 this morning. Problems started about 8.00 (occasional timeouts and connection failures), with permanent failure from 8.30. Maybe last night's maintenance was to downgrade all the servers :erm:

Still, it could be worse. Most of us are only experiencing problems this morning, but according to the service page Southampton have had ongoing problems since April last year!

Yours has got one on too on my PC but mine hasn't. :LOL: They are on everyones post but you don't see one on yours because you don't report your own posts.

When I check my mail through mailwasher and my NTL connection I get the "Connection to the pop server was reset, check your internet connection" on all accounts except a tiscali.co.uk account which works as normal.

Attempting to log on times out after about 2 minutes. Which is actually normal service, so I'll keep trying and if it doesn't let me in after half a dozen attempts I'll know it's worse than usual and assume it's still broken.

Nothing in Glasgow. Why do I pay these muppets every month. Brewery and p*** up spring to mind. I have set top box that requires booting almost every day, e-mail that rarely connect without a hitch.

I'm sure they'd be the first to complain if my direct debit experienced technical problems

I was working today and had a look at the faults popup. Most parts ntl internet is having problems. Email, webmail, browsing, mac address provisioning, registering new users, re-registering. Basically everything. It was reported at 8:32am and the estimated fix was 15:30pm. I didnt get the chance to check it before i left as I wanted to get home but as far as I'm aware there are still some issues here and there but the majority of users are now back to normal* service

*note, "normal" in ntls terms does not mean that everything will work as it should )

After many years of dialup to AOL I am at the end of my first month with the lowest tier broad band service with NTL.

I did not expect the world but all the basics are unreliable!!

E mail is intermittent, very slow, web space exists and then is does not, I was billed exactly twice for all the increased service and then the whole thing was cut off after customer support "sorted it out."

Engineers sorted that one out via the paying support line.

I needed to send my first NTL e-mail today, it was important to me, after 12 hours of trying, NOTHING.

It really makes you wonder!!

I`m only 3 weeks in! (Already paid for 7 via a revised bill!!)

Sounds like a fairly normal day in the life of an ntl customer to me I'm afraid.
We have a list of ntl top brass here for you to get your issues heard.

For Info...I have just spoken to BB tech support>>Swansea<<who have been trying to set up my web space for 3 days.They say there are still "residual" probs from the big crash and not to bother trying to connect to my web space for the next 24 hrs,to be sure all is ok!!..I am in the Hampshire area..

Hell this is frustrating. I'm waiting for an email of earth shattering importance and look what happens! No servers!!! I hadn't noticed the problems over the last few days but this is really stupid! Just think when we get the speed upgrades we will be able to not send emails or not browse faster!;)

I'm currently in Toronto trying to log into ntl's webmail and I can't get into that either.

I get so much junk mail that all I want to do is empty it out so any legit emails will have room to be in there. I've been able to do this for the past few days but today theres nothing... not a sausage.. nada !!:mad:

Hey, now heres a thought. When I get back home maybe my inbox will be empty anyway because the server won't let any spam in there in the first place !!

No they didn't broadcast it - at least not part of Childrens' TV. It was made for the in-house Christmas VT tapes that used to be made by the technicians back in the days of 2" videotape and razor blades and before Dennis Norden got his hands on them and started do It'll be Alright on the Night ad. infinitum.

Parts of it was broadcast as part of a Channel 4 show called TV Offal, but that was a late night comedy/spoof type of show... and not very funny at that.
