I highly doubt sky will be quick to pass on its UHD channel for sports, tbh. Look how long they held on to the exclusivity for the HD channels

Depends what the terms are with Sky when they signed their carriage agreement in July 2019 - Live Sports in UHD is mentioned in it.

Channel 4 HD
Sky Atlantic

The list of things stated or vaguely implied in Virgin press releases that take years to, or even never, come to fruition goes on and on.

Sky Atlantic has never been mentioned or even impiled In any Virgin press release , not sure what Channel 4 HD is referring to be honest.

Some things announced do seem to take away - Sky Cinema and Sky Entertainment in UHD was only added in March 2021.

Although the carriage agreement is probably up for renewal next year.

It’s Sky that have refused to give us Sky Atlantic as they see it as a commercial advantage.

VM hasn’t allowed Sky to have the Virgin Ultra HD channel either.

What’s C4 got to do with anything?

Other than what the carriage deal specified says, yes.

Article dated 10 October 2007.

Actual launch date: 31 July 2009.

As with all things VM don't hold your breath.

Your point being? By the way, you do understand that they were talking about C4 on demand, don’t you? That is, not the channel on the EPG.

My point was that the continuation of C4 SD on Virgin had nothing to do with Sky.

In addition, the deal gives Virgin Media the option of carrying the upcoming Channel 4 HD

Sky Atlantic can be inferred from an interpretation of this article

I'm not really sure what the difficulty in understanding my post was - merely that with anything Virgin Media I'd not hold my breath for content to appear quickly.

OK, I understand where you are coming from, but the C4 HD channel, was an option, that was all. The C4 OD was agreed, and was implemented.

It was nothing to do with Sky, though, which you implied.

I implied no such thing.

At no point was it implied there was a link - other than Virgin Media - between the two things on the list.

OK, I can see that. I assumed you were responding to TimeLord’s post, which was quoted in your reply.
