Somebody needs to let the rest of ntl's staff know then, because they are still telling customers that speeds are being reduced

The other site.

Complete and utter crap. The person who phoned me back this afternoon is one of those that does the upgrades and downgrades and he was adamant that it was not true. But as usual those that think they know better or who want to stir the crap will come along. If it was happening why have i and others at work with access to SABS seen no difference to the configs. ?

If it was true how come i still get this

It was a typo. I don't know - I have had it confirmed 'officially' by ntl and yet people still believe a simple little error as though it is fact.

The upload rate is 512kbps and will still be tomorrow and the day after that and then the day after that, you get the picture....

Re: Ntl to reduce upload speed on 10mb

just got off the phone to customer services,, guy I spoke to told me that we were going to be hit by an asteroid tomorrow and that civilisation would be destroyed, because of this they would be opening the network up to whatever speed we could get from it.

Change will be happening from 9 o'clock tonight:D

Serious part: Aint there alot of doom and gloom merchants/conspiracy theorists out there.

Every second post I see on here seems to follow the form of: My speeds are crap, my pings are high, NTL:Telewest are crooks, ADSL is better/cheaper, BT are gods.

DocDutch 11-12-2006 18:49

Re: Ntl to reduce upload speed on 10mb

Jon, you are 100% right....I would like to know how much of a percentage of NTL customers are really suffering slow speeds, say they got the 10meg but only getting something like 1 meg and then where they are based.

I've since day1 that NTL came with 10 meg never been below 9meg :D but then that might be lucky.

also with all people saying ADSL is better...dream on..only if your living in the exchange itself then you get good speed after 500meters then you are already stuck on say 3meg outta the 8 you should get.
