My cab hasn't been fixed yet it's damaged bottom is bent out of shape, so won't close properly.

I don't think they'll bother with it cause cab upgrades have started in my area recently. But could still be months before it is upgraded, speed rollout is July. So if it's not fixed by Friday me and my next door neighbour are going to fix it for them, he's a builder and used to work for BT as an engineer.

Ok, quick update.

I happened to have a day off and on Friday up rolled a Virgin van, two blokes got out, looked at the box, one kicked it and front fell off.

The other one laughed, they then proceed to get go the van, I assume to locate a suitable tool to shape the box front back into a usable form......so...
Hammer perhaps....nope
maybe a screwdriver.....nope
mallet....nope not one of those

The guy arrived back with a spade!! They then proceed to take in turns to hit the lid with a spade whilst the other one held it. I'm no sheet metal worker, but I suspect this is the not the traditional method of working metal.

At this point the lid looked like it had been the unfortunate recipient of a green box hate attack, looking worse than when it had started.

At this point I popped out to the car and also went over to speak to them, they told me that they had tried to shape it a little and were looking for some bricks to push against the cover as they still thought it would stick out slightly, asked if I had any and said no and went back into the house

They concluded their "repair" by putting the now destroyed front back onto the box and kicking it until I assume it sort of fitted. Then putting a black bin liner over the top of it. Which 10 minutes after they left had blown away.

In short the box looks the same / worse than it did before.

At one point I was honestly hoping they were going to ask me if I could fix it whilst they had a cuppa.

Sorry for the long post and thanks for everyone's help!

You should have filmed it and posted it on Youtube.

Oh I would ring Virgin Media tomorrow from 8am and put in an official complaint as well, but having video evidence would have also been good.

Virgin technicians arent sheet metal fitters, also we dont have the tools to fix cabinets, it will have to go to a contractor. What has happened here is INDIA have asked a technician to close a cabinet door!

Hope they don't shut their van doors using the same method :D

i reported 2 green cabs open 1 month ago, the other day i noticed one of them was closed, and the one right next to it had the usual black tape around it and is still half open, even though i said on the report if they could be closed properly without black tape.

guess i'll keep reporting till its fixed properly because this seems to effect my service.
