Brilliant pieces of kit. And you can still run Windows on it.
I've got Win 98 and XP Pro running on mine alongside OS X quite happily.

I second that. I do love my powerbook, and I got it cheap, re-conditioned from Apple, with AppleCare waranty.

Might be worth a think if you could get away without using Window, and use OpenOffice and linuxx (FreeBSD) apps on Mac. They come loaded, and you can get the 15' with DVD writer and 1gb RAM for about £1600, pricey, but the backlit kb is nice :)

Might come in handy for your work if your work ever needs an Apple for something too.

I'll second that

Got an Inspiron 8600 15.4 in WSXGA PM1400 Centrino with 60Gb HDD for a lot less than it should have been on the outlet site. Very good does all I need and the PM CPU numbers, like those on AMDs should be ignored (or doubled).

I bought for a friend a Latitude D800 (Pentium 715 (1.5GHz), 8x DVD+RW, 40Gb HDD, 15.4" widescreen TFT, 512Mb DDR2 RAM, modem, LAN, wireless LAN, Windows XP pro, Power DVD) for £754 inc delivery and VAT. Note that the prices listed in the Dell outlet *EXCLUDE* delivery (sometimes free) and VAT. It has a lovely solid case and a really good screen and looked just like new.
