Using sim free Samsung Galaxy S3 on Virgin question

I have a new sim free Samsung S3 and am waiting for the sim from Virgin (due tomorrow).

When I put it in and activate it will it pick up all the settings or are there any I will need to set myself. Appreciate any assistance.

They send you the settings automatically by message.
My son just got my old S3 and he had to do nothing to it.

Sometimes you have to change the APN if it is not detected. I found this with giff gaff. It is a simple process anyway
