Re: Coming Soon to Freeview (2011).

Bye Bye to another +1 channel on Freeview. I don't think there should be any. The platform is tight on capacity and +1 channels don't make it an attractive option.

It's not tight at all, well in regions that have had the analogue switched off already.

Re: Coming Soon to Freeview (2011).

New Ofcom licences appear on the Ofcom web site.

Ofcom has given out three new licences to Reach TV to run three channels on Freeview called ''Connect, Stream and Vision''.

You may ask what going to be broadcast on them - I found the following on DS Forums.

Quote:
Connect: Lifestyle/Health/Cook/Travel
Stream: Sport
Vision: Foreign Language/Audience
Info thanks to Ofcom/Digital Spy.

Re: Coming Soon to Freeview (2011).

Freeview update:

UKTV hope to put up an sign telling viewers of the launch of Really on Freeview Channel 20 on August 2nd by Wednesday night.

Viewers will need to retune their box by next Tuesday.

Guardian: Mark Thompson says cuts will not include dropping BBC Parliament from Freeview, but will not rule out service closures.

The BBC director general, Mark Thompson, has ruled out the merger of local radio with BBC Radio 5 Live or dropping the BBC Parliament channel from Freeview.

Re: Coming Soon to Freeview (2011).

Media Boy EXCLUSIVE: ITV to broadcast ITV2 +1 all day on Freeview from next week.

My Freeview EPG in my area (Blackhill) is saying that ITV2 +1 is to start broadcasting 24 hours a day on Freeview Channel 27 from next Tuesday (August 2nd).

NOTE: ITV2 +1 is broadcast from 6pm (7pm in Wales) everyday right now on Freeview.

Re: Coming Soon to Freeview (2011).

Bid TV: Bid TV and Price Drop TV to be given an makeover next week.

From August 1st bid TV and price-drop TV will drop ''TV'' from their name on Freeview.

Bid TV will become bid,
Price Drop TV will become price-drop,
