Line rental saver has been scrapped

Apparently Line Rental Saver has been scrapped, unless you already subscribe to it and renew before it runs out. (Not that VM will be telling anybody of course !) Its been gradually of less value year after year, now only worth £32, still it was worth having if you'd just signed up to a contract.

Loss of Line saver plus the package increase will mean an increase of over £64 per year!

??? This isn't getting rid of line rental, it's the discount for paying a years worth in advance.

Re: Line rental saver has been scrapped

If you renew it before it runs out you get to keep it apparently, but you wont get a reminder letter each year so it is up to the customer to remember.

Mine is due in January so I will renew it on December, It is a good saving and you also get some more discount of your bill.

When did VM publically announce all this is the question? Just like they haven't made it widely known that you now get Caller Display for free.

I sort of 50/50 whether to renew LRS these days anyway. Its been steadily devalued. Unless it coincides with the start and of a new contract it can tie you hands when renegotiating as its non-refundable.

Re: Line rental saver has been scrapped

Their latest June published tariff still refers to it?

https://www.virginmedia.com/content/...Charges_V1.pdf

Though this page refers to only being available to existing customers renewing it:
