Co Stompe has reportedly been bitten on his throwing hand by a dog.

According to reports in his homeland, the Dutchman was bitten during the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship's Christmas break.

The tournament resumes on Tuesday afternoon with Stompe due to face Terry Jenkins in a second-round match.

Stompe is quoted as saying: "(I) cannot change that. Perhaps the hand is less swollen and I can just throw it right."

Yes Terry Jenkins did play well and fully deserved to go through and it looks like he will be followed through to the next round by Darth Maple (John Part)

Kim Huybrechts also caused something of a shock in the opening match of the evening, knocking out James Richardson, the conqueror of five-times winner Raymond van Barneveld in the first round.

John Part 4-1 Richie Burnett
Andy Hamilton 4-3 Vincent van der Voort
