Exclamation Illegal Gun Factory Found in East Sussex

Very worrying and I doubt this is the only one....

Quote:
A "sophisticated" illegal gun factory has been discovered on the edge of a Sussex market town.

The "large-scale" operation was uncovered at a site describing itself as a gearbox repair business on an industrial estate in Hailsham, East Sussex.

Police arrested three men found leaving the building and had to use a Taser on one of them, the National Crime Agency said.

More than 30 handguns and a quantity of ammunition were found at the site, which has been cordoned off while investigations continue.

<snip>

Rob Hickinbottom, head of the NCA firearms threat centre, said the firearms were at various stages of production and that searches have been carried out at other addresses, but would not say where.

Police do not know how long the firearms have been being produced for or how much they were sold for.

Yes l suspect there are several around the country given that there is always a underestimation of these type of things.

Good quality stuff could be produced if they have the right people working for them.

Re: Illegal Gun Factory Found in East Sussex

Many years ago (late 70's) one of the engineers who worked in the same factory as me was a licensed gunsmith.

A present friend of mine is ex REME, has his own workshop and wouldn't have a problem producing guns if he was that way inclined. He's more interested in other things though (73yr old) like model steam trains. That said there's plenty out there that could.

They are if you can get the plans. Trump stepped in at the 11th hour to stop them being available at the beginning of the month via a US website. That doesn't mean they are unavailable elsewhere though. Most likely on the Dark Web.

Re: Illegal Gun Factory Found in East Sussex

Which just shows how flawed the circular thinking of any kind of weapons ban is.

A black hole of criminality which is hard to monitor.
