I'm in two minds about this as 1# Politics shouldn't dominate sport (look at the SDA cricketers in the 1970's) but 2# There is a major safety issue for the teams/spectators

Re: Formula 1 2012 season

That's a bummer. Hopefully he can get a good position in qualifying so with the penalty he doesn't drop too far back down.

Wonder how many crashes there will be tomorrow in practice? I say there will be 5 crashes. Friday the 13th, so I am not getting out of bed at all.

I hope Hamilton can do something.

Re: Formula 1 2012 season

Protest by Lotus thrown out and the`re not going to appeal.....good...

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/98740

Is it just me or does anyone else think this was all just done so the other teams could get the blueprint of how the system works!
They know it creates a stall effect on the front wing thus reducing grip to both the front and rear when the DRS was enabled, just not 100% certain how.
The fact an appeal has been lodged means the design specs must be made available so the others could start work on the design.
Personally i think the advantages are minimal (except for qualie) and it`s been a hullabaloo over something clever. Innovation in F1 seems to be on a downward spiral

That's exactly why they do it, as many pundits have said previously.

Re: Formula 1 2012 season

I realised that the other week when someone else on here pointed that out. Can't blame them really, although it is a bit cheeky expecting to get the blueprints from a rival and then knock up your own one.

Yes it will certainly be interesting tomorrow with Lewis down in 7th and Vettel not even inside the top ten.

Re: Formula 1 2012 season

Actually it was a Ros-Ham-Msc but ham has the penalty..

As far as Rosberg all you can say is that it was a perfect lap.. I don't think you'll ever get better. Once done he was out of the car and off for a nice cold beer with 5 minutes still to go in the Q3 session

But due to the penalty it becomes a Mercedes 1-2. Great lap by Nico. Hopefully will be an intresting race

Re: Formula 1 2012 season

Nope, qualifying is whoever gets the times, so the result of qualifying will always stand as Ros-Ham-Msc, it's only after qualifying that the penalty is implemented

As you said qualifying and not race grid positions you were technically incorrect
