100Mb Hub/Switch
I am thinking when Virgin release the 50Mb I will upgrade would a normal 100Mb hub enable me to connect my xbox and pc and still get the full benefit and use them at the same time

yes but its only 54Mbps router and I get a Netgear hub for £13

The Switch side of the router will be 100MBit you'll find, the 54MBit is the Wireless part.

That is correct, as long as the WAN side of your router is capable of at least 50MBit FulDup

And I wouldn't recommend buying a Hub, always look for a switch when using high bandwidths.

With Switch technology being so cheap these days I don't see a need to have hubs
