Ditto, until some real sport is on.
I heard they are considering darts for the olympics. Stupid, but I guess no more stupid then a host of other entertainment games that are called "sport"

BDO Darts: Defending champion Christian Kist out in first round.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/darts/20921633
Quote:
Defending champion Christian Kist was knocked out of the BDO World Darts Championships in the opening round with a 3-1 defeat by Robbie Green.
The 26-year-old Dutch player won last year's tournament as a qualifier, but has failed to shine since then and slipped to 37 in the world.
Green, the fifth seed at the Lakeside Country Club, showed greater consistency to win.
Gary Robson, the 10th seed, and Martin Atkins, the 11th, also lost on day one.
Robson fell to Garry Thompson and Atkins lost to Jason Cullen.

BDO World Championships: Bobby George on son's debut
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/darts/20916975
Quote:
Two-time finalist Bobby George says his son Richie has earned his place at the BDO World Championships and is not where he is because of his name.
Richie George, 23, made his debut at the Lakeside tournament when he beat Dave Prins on Saturday.
"If he handles the pressure he can handle the darts," George told BBC Sport before the match.
"He has not got there because he is my son, he has got to where he is because of his hands and his darts."

Re: Darts 2013
Aye, that was a cracking match! Certainly it was tense, and close, and a bit scrappy in places. But the lad's definitely got the Bobby George fighting spirit; he's a chip off the old block, and no mistake. He deserved to win - at the very least he'd have made Dave work for it. There's potential in that there lad, no doubt about it.
My mum always liked Bobby; I wish she'd lived to see his son starting out.

PDC world darts: Inquiry into Phil Taylor clash with Van Barneveld
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/darts/20913452
Quote:
Phil Taylor's clash with Raymond van Barneveld in the PDC World Championship semi-finals has been referred for possible disciplinary action.
Taylor, 52, who went on to win a 16th world title, reacted angrily as his 45-year-old opponent tried to shake his hand following the 6-4 win.
Sunday's incident will be examined by the Darts Regulation Authority.
If it decides a player has brought the game into disrepute, a financial penalty is most likely.
A spokesman for the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) told BBC Sport: "As with any incident like this, it has been referred to the Darts Regulation Authority.

BDO World Darts Championships: Martin Adams out at Lakeside
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/darts/20927408
Quote:
Three-time champion Martin Adams was knocked out of the BDO World Darts Championships with a shock 3-2 defeat by Dutch teenager Jimmy Hendricks.
The 52-year-old Adams, who won the Lakeside title in 2007, 2010 and 2011, struggled with his doubles throughout.
Hendricks took the first set before second seed Adams levelled the match.
The 18-year-old debutant went 2-1 ahead and with Adams failing to find the doubles, the Dutch player capitalised to secure a place in the second round.

Scott Waites and Paul Jennings through.

Quote:
Third seed Scott Waites comfortably beat Willy van de Wiel to set up a second-round meeting with Geert de Vos at the BDO World Darts Championships.
Waites, 35, threw a 180 maximum in an opening 13-dart leg as he saw off Van de Wiel 3-0 to record only the second whitewash in the first round.
Sixth seed Ross Montgomery is out as Paul Jennings recovered from illness to pick up a 3-1 win.

BDO World Darts: Darryl Fitton beats Stephen Bunting at Lakeside.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/darts/20953955
Quote:
Darryl Fitton stunned top seed Stephen Bunting by recording a 4-2 victory to progress to the BDO World Championship quarter-finals.
Fitton, 50, a two-time semi-finalist at Lakeside, took the first set 3-2.
But a strong second set showing - highlighted by a 167 checkout in the second leg - brought Bunting level.
Bunting looked to have taken control of the game as he won the third set, but Fitton fought back, winning the next three sets to reach the last eight.
