I have never spent hundreds of pounds, and you said you had spent £2.98 - suddenly you have become less specific...

btw, I am in (almost) agreement with you regarding prescriptions (but have no issues with anyone spending their money on what they want) - my spare specs (a pair in the car and a pair in the office) were from Specsavers and were £75 for two pairs, and my everyday glasses were £125 for two pairs, but that was because they were ultralight frameless with very thin titanium arms (very lightweight and comfortable).

They've gone up in price since then, but my prescription hasn't changed in 4 years (I get an eye test every year).

A bit pricey for my liking at £2.99, but if they don't give UV400 protection you can take Amazon to trading standards

Just paid the gas bill for the quarter: £19.93

Not needed any heat so just the hob's usage.

Mind you the lecky will be along shortly.

Congratulations on finding those (but I have a sneaking suspicion that's not the pair you paid £2.98 for... ).

Some of the reviews...

Quote:
Poor quality lenses that you can barely see through. There is a distinct cloudy milky quality to the vision through the lenses and the glasses are basically useless. Buy cheap, buy twice!
Quote:
These sunglasses broke after one week, guess you get what you paid
Quote:
Bought 2 pairs because of price and wish I hadn't got either. They are comically big and the lenses make vision somewhat blurry
And in the interest of balance, some of the 5 star reviews...
Quote:
For the money, these are great! I love all the bright colour options! So much so, that I bought three different pairs. Ive bought cheap sunglasses in the past that have not offered proper protection from the sun (even though it was stated). That is not the case with these however!
Quote:
Probably not the highest quality pair of sunglasses, but great just to have in the car or in a bag, so that you always have a pair when you need them.
As I said before, I have had my sunglasses 30 and 11 years respectively, so believe I have had good value out of them - ymmv.

Be honest now Hugh, you've bought a pair haven't you? You do seem to have looked into it in detail

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Finally, that's all my youngest son's school clothes all washed and ironed ready for school on Thursday, hubby thinks I'm mad washing brand new clothes especially as all my son's school clothes came in the original packaging, I don't as years ago I worked in a factory and you may think that the brand new clothes you have just bought are nice and clean trust me they are not.

I thought it was normal to wash newly bought clothes and a no brainer.

Ditto SnoopZ, but not according to hubby LOL

My Mother in Law used to not wash new clothes that was until I told her what I had witnessed in the factory where I worked

By the time I pay for my varivocal lenses £90' then pay for them to be made thinner and tranvision vision it cost a fortune before you pick a frame, I tried several opticians and specsavers were the most expensive so I ended going back to my own optician, I paid £399 for one pair ,

This should make your glasses also lighter nash therefore adding comfort to you, expensive I admit but totally worth it

Just imagine how dirty those new clothes really are from the amount of people that have handled them and from the factory, is enough to make anyone want to wash them before use as NEW doesn't mean CLEAN.

Weirdly it is totally different when modelling / wearing the clothes on the cat walk etc, they prim and polish it to the shiniest extent possible without making a bra look like PVC. On those though, they are rarely re-used because we would all be different sizes but next to none of them are for commercial sale anyway (back sizes don't start that low) but it is probably not a bad idea to wash the clothes if you plan to keep them as they may well have been tried on by others first, depending on how you bought them etc. (If you plan on keep them that is, otherwise return in a resell-able state).

The only thing is my sister has to come on Thursday to take her home on Friday for her councilling.
