Channel One
During the mid-1990s, a number of city stations under the banner of Channel One were on air.
From what I have read, they were rolling news and information channels.
What memories of Channel One do users have and was the output nothing other than rolling news bulletins? Did the channels feature live coverage of events?
Also, was there any other output on these channels?
And in which cities/areas were there Channel One stations?

Re: Channel One
I think this was branded with the numerical '1' or sometimes "1one". It was launched in November 1994 and closed in September 1998.
'Channel one' was also the name of a VM/Sky channel in the 2000s.
I don't remember it actually getting beyond London and Liverpool.

Re: Channel One
Im curious why you are making multiple threads about long dead channels, I'm sure one would do.

So it only operated in two cities? I would have thought they would have rolled out in other areas in those four yewars.

Re: Channel One
It always surprised me that city TV has never taken off in the UK. In the 2000s Mancs had the excellent Channel M which had the same quality level as anything that the BBC and ITV produces. I don't think that either L!ve TV and Channel One ever made it to Manchester but of course I may be wrong. Contrast this to Liverpool which had both a local L!ve and Channel One.
