About time this was done they are a complete and utter farce.. the Philippines call centre is enough to drive you into the psychiatric ward. they refuse to listen then add things on when told no.

Different topic but same call centre complete joke. 360 box dies at least once a day ,reboot gets it going again. Has gone off when watching TV , nothing had been touched or moved. Keep getting told to check wiring etc, which I had done before calling . Just go around and around in circles. Told everything this fine . I give up life it to short to deal with these fools

Re: Ofcom investigation into Virgin Media making it hard to cancel
They've always been crap, difficult to understand and infuriating, but at least they were polite.
Some of them now appear to be developing an attitude. There was a report that one even told one customer to F off.
I myself was exposed to innapropriate conduct recently. I told the guy to slow down and speak more clearly as his English was not up to standard. He screamed down the phone "Whaaaatttt".
My solicitor wrote to the office of the CEO who listened to the recording, apologised, said he would be dealt with and made a one off credit to my account. My upset was compounded because of my disabilities so, to reflect this, my monthly bill was reduced by £3 and I was upgraded from the lowest TV package to the highest TV package for nothing.
They couldn't even do this right as I found I had only had my bill reduced by £2. I rang back and was essentially called a liar. They said that they would need to listen to the recording, at which point I said I would not tolerate any more messing about and would be asking for a further goodwill payment if it didn't stop immediately and invited them to read the notes.
They did so and immediately agreed to apply the correct reduction.

VM view their customers as an unfortunate hindrance between themselves and the customers bank accounts!

As a ‘long standing and loyal customer’ I was offered Sky Movies free of charge without asking for it the other week.

Was it one of those freebies, that they'll then charge for it going forwards if you don't cancel?

They always come out with that, they're reading it from a script.
How long was it for? The idea is to get you to like it and keep paying for it, hope that you don't cancel through inertia or, as others have said, if that doesn't work make it difficult to cancel.
Sky & Virgin are desperate to get people to subscribe to Sky Cinema atm. Sky customers get Paramount+ thrown in for free, Now TV have offered it me fir free and then £1 per month. I turned both down as there's absolutely nothing I want to watch on it.

Anyone who says that the customer they are speaking to is "loyal and valued" is reading from a script.

The extra channels were added straight away, and the bill was as they said it was.
No complaints from me. The contract runs for 18 months.

During which time your bill will increases to an unknown amount, and you have no cancellation rights. Even if you did cancel after that VM will more than likely ignore your request. Still no complaints?
