Like many tv programs/series that I watch falling skies has become another one that teeters on the edge of "watch it or bin it"
Far too many modern TV shows have in essence a great story and an expanded universe that could be exploited by the writers. Yet, they all seem to want to engage the audience with personal relationship stories.
What had promise usually ends up dull and dreary.
