I think the the green card allows you to reside and work in the US?
Do you still keep your UK passport?
And... was/is the packing all done?
Happy thought - I went off for some warm spring and I came home to find that it's here too at last.

It's the equivalent of permanent leave to remain here, It allows you to live and work in the US and is valid for 10 years before it has to be renewed. I will still be a UK citizen & keep my passport. No packing done at all & so much to do!

Chop chop then, hope you'll still find time to pop in once you've left, if not good luck kev, hope it all goes well out there.

You had better find time to come and give us updates on what is happening to you Cobby or else I shall come over there and bop you on the nose my little Jem.

You mean that you could be allowed back at any moment?
Do you have a departure date?
Stay in touch here yes?
If you should run out of packing boxes I volunteer to look after your music collection
Very best wishes and Happy landings Cobby.

Thanks all, I'll still be on here finding out what's going on in the Motherland
No departure date as yet. I've applied to apply for the Green Card & according to the website that application will be reviewed early/mid May. Then I have to apply with a load of other information, then the medical, then the interview at the US embassy. Will be at least a couple of months, then I have a month's notice at work, so July at the earliest.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Just completed another Parkrun 5k, results won't be in until this evening but although I came in 38th (was 29th last week but I don't worry about that too much as we don't start off all alongside each other) it appears I may have improved on my 24.03 PB by around 20 seconds - it's a shame my phone's GPS app isn't accurate enough to be sure however the guy who came in a couple of metres ahead of me said his stopwatch read 23.28 for him so I'm keeping my fingers crossed...
---------- Post added at 13:17 ---------- Previous post was at 13:08 ----------
edit: times just came in, smashed my PB by 30 seconds and did it in 23.32! Landed

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Well done Russ. Keep chipping away at those times and eventually you will be coming in at sub 20.

What a pair of Sweeties dilli. I take if Tobin Dax is a new addition to your household?

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Maybe you should have chosen a show with a smaller cast dilli. I see problems in the future.
