I used to do that but had a few problems once i installed Vista on my machine.Kid's PC's have XP and for some reason whenever i create the shared folders XP does not see it.

Did you have simple file sharing on? Were the kids PC on the same workgroup/ domain? Did the kids have accounts on the PC housing the share so that it knew to allow them access? What version of XP are you running? We have 4 Win XP machines sharing around 10 different folders here between them and all PCs can see all shares.

It's XP pro on the kid's PC's The problem seems to be Vista related but it seems to be fixed.Had to reset access through the Firewall for the XP machines to be able to see Vista.
