What’s the difference between a 360 box and a Horizon box, Media Boy?

That’s what I thought, in which case MB’s post doesn’t seem to make sense.

Horizon 4 is the version that the 360 boxes run on - which is why the OS numbering is currently 4.xx
Virgin Media Ireland had earlier versions of Horizon which Virgin Media UK didn't.

Re: General Virgin Media Ireland Discussion
If you look at the channels numbers on the Virgin Media Ireland's TV 360 box it make me think back to NTL old channels numbers way back before 2007 when the channel number was pick in the air.

Re: General Virgin Media Ireland Discussion
Liberty Global has put VM Ireland up for sale. It's been in and out of the UK group since the days of NTL. I'm guessing the new owner will need to rebrand, unless Virgin Group is able to licence the Virgin Media brand in Ireland, similar to how it does with Virgin Radio and Virgin Mobile in different markets.

Interesting. I wonder why it wasn't included in the VM/O2 merger.

Because it's an Irish company, separate from VM UK

I've also since found out that O2 don't have a presence in the ROI.

They used to but sold out to Three.
Vodafone might be interested on paper, but their combined home broadband market share is probably too high for the competition authorities to entertain. (Eir has 30%, Virgin Media Ireland 25%, Vodafone 19%, Sky 14%).
