Ferry prices are ridiculous at the moment. Cheaper to fly and rent a car.
When it was lockdown and you couldnt travel abroad the UK holiday industry saw Money money money! A typical cottage or B&B is nearly 3 times the price now! Maddness!
Can't beat French food! I always bring loads of things back when I go to France.
Day trips are great. And it seems to make the summer seem a lot longer as you look back and you've done a lot of different things.

Potters at the end of the month and Yarmouth end of October, didn't seem like a good idea to book anything more exotic this year with all the chaos, cruise next year

yes if you cause an accident and the police are involved, apparently there is a legal limit , but to be honest every one drinks, it's not easy causing a fatal accident at4mph

Re: Are you going on a summer holiday this year?
Don't have time to fit one of them in, I don't and won't own a passport so any holidaying will be in the UK.
I've not properly had a weekend/few days away for maybe 7 years now, miss the south coast at this time of the year, yes its going to be a lot more expensive now.
My last proper break was a long weekend in Scotland in April, rest of it is just long weekends with some events with friends. Do need to book some time off before end of August, I'm drained.

Not going far this year as it is too much hassle, We will probable take a few days or a long weekend not far from home,

Fast forward to 2022.... Now looking forward to Mallorca/Majorca in August. Much needed sunshine and drinks!
Hotel right near the beach and surrounded by beautiful scenery!
Been saving a while for this so can't wait!

Hope you’re not going to fall foul of the six drink rule they’ve introduced.
